If someone were to ask me what the two best things
I ever did in my life were I would say in 1959, marrying
Hazel, and in 1989 walking into Bob's Dive Shop.
I went to Navy Underwater Swimmers School in 1966
and wanted to get back into diving recreationally.
Since that time I have been to a lot of places I never
would have visited and I've seen a lot of things that
most people never see. I am an avid underwater photographer
because people don't believe what the underwater world
is like without showing them pictures. In my 640+ dives
I have filled seven albums with underwater photos.
You never know what you are going to see and every
trip is exciting! I am especially proud of my
Mandarin fish photos from our Philippines trip this
past March. |

I have continued to dive with Bob's
because of the friendships I've made in the club; Mary
and Ed, Hutch, Steve, the Moreno's and way too many
others to name. They have become more than just
dive buddies; Ed stayed and drove me around Long Beach,
in the middle of the night, when the city impounded
my truck while we were out diving on the Encore; Steve
who took a position by my foot and protected my leg
when I broke my hip. Mary who takes care of all the
details of our travels and Debbie with her big laugh
and bigger heart.
Each trip you meet new people and make new friends who
share your interest.
My idea of a dream vacation is anyone where I don't have
to change planes to get where we are going! |
