After several years of guiding white water rafts on the top of the water, I decided to take a look at what goes on underneath.  I’ve always been interested in water sports and with a planned vacation to Turks and Caicos Islands; I decided it was time to look into Scuba.

I got certified on Memorial Day weekend 2005.   My open water was at Millerton Lake with Chris and I was able to observe a variety of great sights such as mud, broken fishing lures, and empty beer cans.  At that moment I knew scuba was for me! 

Since that weekend I have traveled the World with the Bob’s Dive Shop's “Sub Club”.  The Sub Club is a dive travel club sponsored by Bob’s Dive Shop.

Before looking into certification, I did some research and found Bob’s Dive Shop to be the only logical choice due to its reputation, length of time in business, and its affiliation with SSI.  My only regret has been not starting sooner because now I’ll have to dive until I’m ninety to catch up with Hutch!

There’s no question that besides the excitement and mystery of the underwater world, it’s all about the people.  I feel like my family and I have made life long friends and will be diving and traveling as a family until I check into that big hyperbaric chamber in the sky!  A little diving humor there!  Very little!

Ed, Mary and the rest of the Bob’s Dive Shop gang have made Val, Megan, and I comfortable from day one and make all our trips, especially the international dives, as easy as writing a check and getting on the plane.  I’m currently working on becoming a Dive Leader (Dive Control Specialist).   I can’t wait to finish so I can buy cool sweatshirts like Vince and Jenny!
